Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan has etched his name into T20 World Cup history by overtaking India great Virat Kohli for the most runs in a single edition of the tournament.
Farhan now holds the record with 383 runs in the ongoing 2026 competition, moving past Kohli’s previous benchmark of 319. The milestone was achieved in the sixth over of Pakistan’s innings against Sri Lanka, bowled by captain Dasun Shanaka.
Kohli had accumulated 319 runs during the 2014 T20 World Cup at an average of 106.33 across six innings, registering four half-centuries.
In contrast, Farhan’s campaign has been marked by consistency and attacking strokeplay. Across seven matches, the right-hander has scored 383 runs at an average of 76.60 and a strike rate of 160.25, including two centuries and two fifties.
