Vaibhav Sooryavanshi reclaimed the top spot in the IPL 2026 Orange Cap table following Rajasthan Royals’ win over Punjab Kings in New Chandigarh, continuing the trend of major shifts in the batting charts whenever the two sides feature.

Orange Cap

Sooryavanshi surged back to No. 1 in the Orange Cap race after a quickfire 43 off 16 balls, an innings that included five sixes and made him the first batter this season to cross the 400-run mark.

After beginning the season with scores of 52, 31, 39 and 78, he experienced a brief dip before regaining form. Recent contributions of 46 and 103 in two of his last three innings, followed by this latest knock, have propelled him back to the top.

Abhishek Sharma of Sunrisers Hyderabad sits second with 380 runs, followed by KL Rahul of Delhi Capitals with 358. Virat Kohli of Royal Challengers Bengaluru is fourth with 351 runs, while Heinrich Klaasen, also of SRH, completes the top five with 349.

Punjab Kings opener Prabhsimran Singh moved to sixth place after scoring 59 off 44 balls, taking his tally to 346 runs. His captain Shreyas Iyer is currently tenth, having reached 309 runs after an innings of 30 from 27 balls.

Purple Cap

Jofra Archer joined the leading group in the Purple Cap standings after dismissing Priyansh Arya, taking his wicket tally to 14.

He now shares the top position with Bhuvneshwar Kumar of Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Anshul Kamboj of Chennai Super Kings, and Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Eshan Malinga, all on 14 wickets.

Among them, Bhuvneshwar holds the best economy rate at 7.61, followed by Archer at 8.27, Kamboj at 8.56, and Malinga at 9.44.

Just behind the leaders, Prince Yadav of Lucknow Super Giants and Kagiso Rabada of Gujarat Titans are tied on 13 wickets each.
