Two Rajasthan Royals (RR) players made major moves in the IPL 2026 Orange Cap and Purple Cap races during the Eliminator against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Vaibhav Sooryavanshi made it to the top while helping the team to proceed to Qualifier 2. Jofra Archer took three wickets for the second consecutive match and moved within two wickets of Purple Cap leaders Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Kagiso Rabada.
Orange Cap Leaderboard
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is currently at No. 1 in Orange Cap race after producing another extraordinary innings on May 27, hitting 12 sixes and breaking Chris Gayle’s record for the most sixes in a single IPL season. He also looked on course to break Gayle’s record for the fastest IPL hundred, which came off 30 balls, before being dismissed for 97 from 29 deliveries.
That fastest-century record may still come within reach for him in the future, but Sooryavanshi has already returned to the top of the IPL 2026 run-scoring chart. He now has 680 runs, placing him 28 runs ahead of second-placed B Sai Sudharsan of Gujarat Titans (GT).
Sooryavanshi, Sudharsan and third-placed Shubman Gill of GT all have at least one more match remaining in the tournament. Virat Kohli, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter who sits sixth with 600 runs, also has one more game left.
Dhruv Jurel also made an important move after scoring 50 off 21 balls against SRH. On another night, that innings could have been the headline performance. It took him to 508 runs for the season and lifted him to 11th place on the run-scoring table.
For SRH, Heinrich Klaasen ended the season at No. 3 with 624 runs, Ishan Kishan finished No. 5 with 602 runs, and Abhishek Sharma closed at No. 8 with 563 runs.
Purple Cap Leaderboard
Jofra Archer is enjoying his most productive IPL campaign and added another three-wicket haul, his second in as many matches. Although he was expensive against SRH, giving away 58 runs in four overs, his wickets were crucial as he removed the opposition’s three major top-order batters inside the powerplay.
Archer has now reached 24 wickets for the season. Ahead of him are two bowlers who can still increase their totals: RCB’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar and GT’s Kagiso Rabada, who both have 26 wickets.
