Heinrich Klaasen and Abhishek Sharma continue to dominate the Orange Cap standings in IPL 2026 following Sunrisers Hyderabad’s 33-run win over Punjab Kings.
The match saw SRH post 235 before restricting PBKS to 202, which resulted in further reshuffling in the batting charts while tightening the race among the leading wicket-takers.
Klaasen Moves to the Top
Klaasen climbed to the top of the run-scoring list after producing another impactful knock. His 69 against PBKS, his fifth half-century of the season, took his tally to 494 runs from 11 innings.
Despite a relatively measured start to the campaign, Klaasen has maintained a strike rate of 157.32, underlining his consistency and importance in the middle order. His performances highlight how a No. 4 batter can accumulate heavily even when top-order players dominate early phases.
Abhishek and Kishan Keep SRH Dominant
Abhishek Sharma, who has remained among the top three throughout the season, added a quickfire 35 off 13 balls to retain second place with 475 runs.
Ishan Kishan also played a key role, scoring 55 from 32 deliveries to move up to fourth with 409 runs. His contribution ensured SRH maintained control of the innings and strengthened their presence in the top run-scorers’ list.
Rahul Holds Third Spot
KL Rahul remains third with 445 runs despite a low score in the previous game for Delhi Capitals.
Other batters to cross the 400-run mark include Vaibhav Sooryavanshi of Rajasthan Royals (404 runs) and Sanju Samson of Chennai Super Kings (402 runs).
Connolly Climbs Despite PBKS Loss
Cooper Connolly continued his impressive run for Punjab Kings, scoring an unbeaten 107 off 59 balls. His effort, although in a losing cause, lifted him to 11th on the table with 377 runs.
Tight Battle in Purple Cap Standings
While the top five in the Purple Cap standings remained unchanged, Eshan Malinga edged closer to the leaders. His latest wicket took him to 16, level with Kagiso Rabada of Gujarat Titans, though he trails slightly on economy rate.
At the top, Bhuvneshwar Kumar of Royal Challengers Bengaluru remains the leading wicket-taker with 17 scalps. Anshul Kamboj of CSK is level on wickets but sits second due to a higher economy rate.
Jofra Archer of Rajasthan Royals completes the top five with 15 wickets.
Race Intensifies
With several matches still to play, the Orange and Purple Cap races remain highly competitive. Batters at the top continue to trade positions with every game, while bowlers remain separated by fine margins, ensuring the contest stays open heading into the final phase of the season.
