Vaibhav Sooryavanshi once again grabbed the spotlight with a stunning display of power-hitting, earning widespread reactions on social media after his 36-ball century against Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2026.

Facing a bowling attack featuring names such as Jasprit Bumrah, Rashid Khan, Mohammed Siraj, Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, the teenage batter continued to impress with his fearless approach. Pat Cummins became the latest high-profile bowler to be taken on during their encounter in Jaipur.

In Cummins’ first appearance of the season, Sooryavanshi quickly made an impact. He countered a short-ball strategy with confidence, pulling a bouncer over the leg side for a six — their first meeting of the season setting the tone for what followed.

Early Assault Sets the Tone

The aggressive stroke off Cummins came shortly after Sooryavanshi had taken apart Praful Hinge in the opening over. Having been dismissed for a duck by Hinge in their earlier meeting in Hyderabad, the left-hander responded emphatically by hitting four consecutive sixes in the first over of Rajasthan Royals’ innings.

While Yashasvi Jaiswal fell to Eshan Malinga, Sooryavanshi continued his charge. He collected 12 runs off Malinga in the fifth over and helped push the total to 76 for 1 by the end of the powerplay, finishing strongly with a six off Sakib Hussain.

Dominance Through the Middle Overs

The momentum carried into the middle phase as Sooryavanshi and Dhruv Jurel added quick runs, including a 16-run over against Shivang Kumar. The young batter maintained control, repeatedly finding boundaries against Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain.

Even after Jurel was dismissed by Nitish Kumar Reddy, Sooryavanshi remained in full flow. He struck Sakib for 6, 4, 6 to bring up his second IPL century, continuing his remarkable rise.

Another Landmark at a Young Age

Sooryavanshi had already made headlines in IPL 2025 with a 35-ball hundred against Gujarat Titans at the age of 14. Now 15, he followed it up with another rapid century — this time off 36 balls against SRH.

While 28 players have scored multiple centuries in IPL history, none have done so before turning 18. Sooryavanshi has achieved the feat well before even reaching 16, underlining his exceptional talent.

Standing Ovation and Social Media Buzz

His innings ended immediately after reaching the hundred, as he missed a reverse scoop against Sakib Hussain and was dismissed LBW. Despite the abrupt end, he received a standing ovation from the Jaipur crowd for his remarkable knock.

The performance quickly sparked reactions across social media, with fans celebrating the young left-hander’s fearless batting and hailing him as the “Baby Goat” following his latest explosive innings.
