Chennai Super Kings spinner Akeal Hosein has come under scrutiny after sharing a social media post related to the Pakistan Super League (PSL) while in India during IPL 2026.

The West Indies international, who is currently part of the CSK squad but has yet to feature regularly due to team combination and fitness considerations, posted an image on Instagram showing himself watching a PSL 2026 match between Multan Sultans and RawalPindiz. In the post, he appeared to be praising Dian Forrester’s cameo of 24 off 11 deliveries.

The post quickly drew attention from fans, as PSL matches are not officially broadcast in India. Streaming of the league had been discontinued in April 2025, and access to related platforms has since been restricted.

Questions Over Access

Hosein’s post raised questions about how he was able to watch the match from India, given the lack of official broadcast options. While no confirmation has been provided, the speculation among fans is VPN being the method of access.

The focus of the reaction, however, has largely been on the public sharing of such content rather than the act of viewing itself. Posting PSL-related material while based in India has been viewed by some as controversial and disrespectful given the current broadcasting restrictions.

As of now, neither Hosein nor Chennai Super Kings have issued any statement regarding the matter.

CSK Await Potential Boost

Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings are looking to improve their start to IPL 2026, having lost their opening three matches and currently sitting at the bottom of the table.

The team could receive a boost ahead of their next fixture against Delhi Capitals on April 11 at Chepauk, with MS Dhoni set to undergo a fitness test. Dhoni has been sidelined with a calf strain sustained prior to the season and has not travelled with the squad for away fixtures.

Dewald Brevis is also nearing a return after missing the first three matches due to a side strain. According to head coach Stephen Fleming, Brevis is expected to be available for the upcoming game.
