India leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal reached Dehradun on Friday to take part in the wedding celebrations of teammate Kuldeep Yadav, expressing his delight at being present for the occasion.

Chahal spoke about his excitement and the close friendship he shares with Kuldeep while interacting with ANI. “I am very excited for my brother’s marriage. I will dance a lot and enjoy,” he said, suggesting festive celebrations are on the cards. The wedding follows Kuldeep’s recent success with the Indian team in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Ahmedabad.

Kuldeep is set to marry his fiancée Vanshika on March 14 in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand. The ceremony will be held at Welcomhotel The Savoy in the scenic hill station.

Reports indicate that the couple had earlier got engaged in a private ceremony in Lucknow in June last year, attended only by close family members. The upcoming wedding is also expected to remain an intimate event.

A number of prominent cricket personalities are likely to be part of the celebrations, including former India captain Sunil Gavaskar and current international players Rinku Singh, Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma, among other invitees.

The celebrations come shortly after India’s dominant victory in the T20 World Cup 2026 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. India clinched the title with a win over New Zealand after posting a formidable total of 255, with half-centuries from Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson.

Kuldeep had earlier reflected on the team’s achievement while speaking to ANI. “It is an important victory. The tournament went very well for us, and we have been preparing for this for a long time,” he said.

He also expressed happiness for teammate Sanju Samson, adding, “I have shared my cricketing journey with him since the Under-12s, and I am very happy to see him reap the rewards of his hard work over the years.”
