Rajasthan Royals’ strong start to IPL 2026 continued with their third consecutive win, a rain-shortened victory over Mumbai Indians in Guwahati, which also reshaped the race for the Orange Cap and Purple Cap.
With the tournament beginning to take shape, Rajasthan Royals now sit at the top of the points table, while their players dominate both individual leaderboards.
Orange Cap leaderboard
Yashasvi Jaiswal moved to the top of the run-scoring charts after his unbeaten 77 off 32 balls in the 11-over contest against Mumbai Indians. The innings took his tally to 170 runs from three matches, having been dismissed only once so far this season.
His latest knock saw him overtake Sameer Rizvi of Delhi Capitals, who now sits second with 160 runs. Rizvi has also recorded the highest individual score of the season so far, having struck 90 against Mumbai Indians in DC’s recent match.
Several other batters have also crossed the 100-run mark at this stage. Heinrich Klaasen of Sunrisers Hyderabad, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi of Rajasthan Royals, and Mumbai Indians’ Rohit Sharma complete the top five on the leaderboard.
Purple Cap leaderboard
Ravi Bishnoi strengthened his position at the top of the wicket-taking charts with another impactful performance. His figures of 2 for 25 in two overs against Mumbai Indians took his total to seven wickets in the tournament.
That effort followed his earlier spell of 4 for 41 against Gujarat Titans, helping him move clear of the rest of the field.
Four bowlers are currently tied for second place with five wickets each:
- Vijaykumar Vyshak (Punjab Kings)
- Anshul Kamboj (Chennai Super Kings)
- Nandre Burger (Rajasthan Royals)
- Jacob Duffy (Royal Challengers Bengaluru)
With both batting and bowling leaderboards led by Rajasthan Royals players, the early stages of IPL 2026 have reflected the team’s dominant form.
