After the first 11 matches of the IPL 2026 group stage, the race for both the Orange Cap and Purple Cap has already begun to take shape, with a mix of expected performers and emerging names making an early impact.

Topping the run-scoring charts is an unexpected contender in Sameer Rizvi, who has made a strong start to the season. After managing 51 runs in IPL 2024 and 121 in IPL 2025, the Delhi Capitals (DC) No. 4 has announced himself emphatically this year.

Rizvi played crucial roles in both his outings so far, batting during chases and guiding his side to victory each time. He struck an unbeaten 70 off 47 balls against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), followed by a 90 off 51 deliveries against Mumbai Indians (MI). Both performances earned him Player-of-the-Match honours, placing him in distinguished company.

Trailing Rizvi’s 160 runs is Heinrich Klaasen of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), who has accumulated 145 runs across three innings. Klaasen has delivered consistent contributions with scores of 31, 52 and 62, maintaining a combined strike rate of 147.95.

Mumbai Indians’ Rohit Sharma sits next with 113 runs from two innings, including a notable 78 off 38 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

Several other batters have already crossed the 100-run milestone:

  • Devdutt Padikkal (Royal Challengers Bengaluru) – 111 runs
  • Cooper Connolly (Punjab Kings) – 108 runs
  • Angkrish Raghuvanshi (Kolkata Knight Riders) – 103 runs

On the bowling front, four players are currently level with five wickets each.

Ravi Bishnoi leads the standings at this stage. His standout performance of 4 for 41 helped Rajasthan Royals (RR) secure a win over Gujarat Titans (GT). That spell is one of only two four-wicket hauls recorded so far in the tournament, with Blessing Muzarabani of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) producing identical figures against SRH.

The other bowlers tied on five wickets are Punjab Kings’ Vijaykumar Vyshak, Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Jacob Duffy, and Chennai Super Kings’ Anshul Kamboj, all of whom are pace bowlers.
