KL Rahul has returned to the top of the IPL 2026 Orange Cap standings, while Sanju Samson climbed into the top five following his match-winning performance for Chennai Super Kings against Delhi Capitals.
CSK secured a significant win in Delhi on Tuesday, boosting their net run rate and impacting both the Orange and Purple Cap leaderboards.
Orange Cap Standings
Sanju Samson’s unbeaten 87 off 52 balls in the chase of 156 on a slow Delhi surface lifted him back into the top five. His knock saw him move past Gujarat Titans’ B Sai Sudharsan to claim the No. 5 position.
Samson now has 402 runs from ten innings at an average of 57.42 and a strike rate of 167.50. He joins KL Rahul, Abhishek Sharma, Heinrich Klaasen and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi as the only players to cross the 400-run mark this season.
At the top, Rahul regained the Orange Cap despite scoring just 12 in his latest outing. That was enough to move him five runs ahead of Abhishek Sharma.
With Sunrisers Hyderabad set to face Punjab Kings, both Abhishek and Klaasen remain in contention to reclaim the top position.
Purple Cap Standings
There were no changes among the leading wicket-takers following Tuesday’s match.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar of Royal Challengers Bengaluru continues to lead the table with 17 wickets. He is followed by Chennai Super Kings’ Anshul Kamboj, who also has 17 wickets despite going wicketless in the game against Delhi Capitals.
Kagiso Rabada of Gujarat Titans sits third with 16 wickets, while Rajasthan Royals’ Jofra Archer and Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Eshan Malinga share the next spots with 15 wickets each.
