The IPL 2026 clash between Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants in Lucknow turned into a low-scoring contest, with just 278 runs scored across both innings and 16 wickets falling. As a result, the Purple Cap race saw significant movement, while the Orange Cap standings remained largely unchanged.

Purple Cap Leaderboard: Tight Race at the Top

Prince Yadav continued his impressive rise this season, picking up two wickets for LSG to climb to the top of the Purple Cap table. He now has 13 wickets, level with Anshul Kamboj of Chennai Super Kings.

Prince edges ahead due to a better economy rate (8.38 compared to 9.73), although he has played one additional innings.

Jofra Archer was the standout performer in the match, claiming three wickets for RR. He now has 11 wickets this season, moving into the top five.

Just behind the leaders are Eshan Malinga of Sunrisers Hyderabad and Prasidh Krishna of Gujarat Titans, both with 12 wickets each.

Meanwhile, Ravi Bishnoi also reached 11 wickets after his latest outing, though his economy rate (9.26) trails Archer’s impressive 7.96—the best among the top 16 bowlers.

Orange Cap Leaderboard: Minimal Changes

The batting charts saw little movement despite the match outcome. Abhishek Sharma of Sunrisers Hyderabad continues to lead the Orange Cap standings with 323 runs, closely followed by teammate Heinrich Klaasen with 320 runs.

Shubman Gill of Gujarat Titans remains in third place with 265 runs.

The only notable shift came from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who moved up to fourth place with 254 runs despite scoring just 8 in the match. He overtook Virat Kohli of Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who now sits fifth with 247 runs.

Conclusion

With bowlers dominating in Lucknow, the Purple Cap race has tightened significantly at the top, while the Orange Cap standings remain stable. As IPL 2026 progresses, both leaderboards are expected to see further shifts, especially with several contenders closely grouped in both categories.
