Leading the Way in IPL 2026

Klaasen’s consistency this season has been equally impressive. With five half-centuries in IPL 2026, he currently holds the record for the most fifties by any batter in this edition.

Several players are close behind with four half-centuries each, including Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Prabhsimran Singh, and Shreyas Iyer.

Crucial Contribution in High-Scoring Encounter

Klaasen went on to score 69 off 43 balls before being dismissed by Vyshak Vijaykumar on the final ball of SRH’s innings. His knock played a key role in helping Sunrisers Hyderabad post a formidable total of 235.

The innings was set up by strong contributions at the top, with Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan providing a brisk start. Kishan benefited from multiple dropped chances, while Nitish Kumar Reddy added a quick 29 off 13 balls towards the end.

Klaasen maintained a strike rate of 160.47, striking four sixes and three boundaries as he capitalised on favourable batting conditions.

A Remarkable Turnaround in Form

Across 11 matches in IPL 2026, Klaasen has accumulated runs at an average of 54.89 and a strike rate of 157.32, underlining his consistency throughout the tournament.

This performance marks a significant improvement compared to his SA20 2025-26 campaign with Durban Super Giants, where he averaged 19.71 with a strike rate of 128.97 in seven matches.

Despite limited expectations following that tournament, Klaasen has delivered consistently for SRH, playing a crucial role in their campaign and strengthening their push towards the playoffs.
