India and Australia enjoyed successful outings in their ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 warm-up fixtures, defeating West Indies and England respectively in Cardiff ahead of the tournament. Bharti Fulmali starred for India with an unbeaten half-century, while Ellyse Perry led Australia’s chase with a commanding knock against England.

India Defeat West Indies by 26 Runs

India produced a strong all-round performance to secure a 26-run victory over West Indies. Bharti Fulmali’s unbeaten 56, combined with key contributions from Smriti Mandhana, Yastika Bhatia and Shafali Verma, helped India post 179 for 8 before their bowlers restricted West Indies to 153 for 8.

Asked to bat first, India made an aggressive start through Shafali and stand-in captain Mandhana, who put together a 59-run opening partnership in just 5.2 overs. Mandhana scored 39 before falling to Aaliyah Alleyne, while Shafali struck five boundaries in her rapid 29 off 13 deliveries before Karishma Ramharack dismissed her.

India then lost Jemimah Rodrigues to Afy Fletcher, who emerged as West Indies’ most effective bowler. However, Bhatia and Fulmali rebuilt the innings with a valuable 60-run stand. Bhatia hit 36, including six fours, while Fulmali remained unbeaten on 56, featuring six fours and a six, as India finished on 179 for 8. Fletcher returned impressive figures of 4 for 23.

West Indies began their chase positively, with Deandra Dottin and Shemaine Campbelle adding 63 runs for the opening wicket. Campbelle retired out after scoring 25, and from that point India’s bowlers took control.

Shreyanka Patil led the charge with four wickets, dismissing Qiana Joseph, Jahzara Claxton, Jannillea Glasgow and Zaida James. Radha Yadav provided excellent support with 3 for 25, while Yastika Bhatia was involved in the dismissals of Dottin, Alleyne and Chinelle Henry. Dottin top-scored with 49 from 44 balls, but West Indies finished on 153 for 8.

India 179/8 (Bharti Fulmali 56*, Smriti Mandhana 39, Yastika Bhatia 36; Afy Fletcher 4/23) beat West Indies 153/8 (Deandra Dottin 49, Shemaine Campbelle 25; Shreyanka Patil 4/36, Radha Yadav 3/25) by 26 runs.

Perry Leads Australia Past England

Australia recorded a five-wicket victory over England, with Ellyse Perry’s half-century guiding the defending champions to a comfortable chase.

England endured a difficult start after being sent in to bat, slipping to 19 for 3 inside five overs. Kim Garth removed Danni Wyatt-Hodge, while Megan Schutt dismissed Amy Jones. Nat Sciver-Brunt, playing her comeback match, was bowled by Alana King as England struggled through the powerplay.

Alice Capsey and Heather Knight helped rebuild the innings with important contributions of 45 and 25 respectively. Freya Kemp added 41, while Dani Gibson also chipped in to help England recover to 157 for 6 from their shaky start.

Australia responded confidently in the chase. Beth Mooney provided early momentum with a brisk 43 from 26 deliveries and shared a 51-run opening partnership with Georgia Voll.

Perry then took charge after arriving at No. 3, striking nine boundaries during her 64 from 43 balls. Her innings anchored the pursuit as Australia steadily closed in on the target. Although Perry was eventually dismissed, the result was never in doubt, with Australia reaching the target with ten balls remaining.

Schutt and King both finished with two wickets apiece, playing crucial roles in restricting England before the batters completed the job.

Brief Scores:
Australia 158/5 (Ellyse Perry 64, Beth Mooney 43; Lauren Bell 2/22) beat England 157/6 (Alice Capsey 45, Freya Kemp 41; Alana King 2/10, Megan Schutt 2/20) by five wickets.
