Lahore Qalandars ended their three-match losing streak with a convincing 32-run victory over Rawalpindiz in PSL 2026, climbing to six points alongside three other teams. Despite both sides starting the game in the bottom two positions, the gap in performance was evident throughout the contest.

Qalandars posted their highest total of the season, 210 for 4, before restricting Rawalpindiz to 178 for 9 in response.

Fakhar and Farooq Lead Strong Batting Effort

After losing the toss, Lahore opted to bat first, going against the prevailing trend. The decision paid off as Mohammad Farooq provided early momentum in the powerplay, using his aggressive strokeplay to keep the scoreboard moving.

While Fakhar Zaman took time to settle, Farooq ensured the pressure remained on the bowlers. Once set, Fakhar accelerated, producing a commanding 84 off 54 balls. His innings featured 11 boundaries and a six, carrying Lahore past the 200-run mark.

The pair laid the foundation against a stretched bowling attack, with Rawalpindiz relying heavily on multiple part-time options to complete their overs.

Early Collapse Hurts Rawalpindiz

In reply, Rawalpindiz made another change to their opening combination, but the move failed to deliver results. Both openers fell inside three balls of Shaheen Shah Afridi’s second over, continuing a pattern of early setbacks.

Yasir Khan provided a counterattack, scoring a brisk 58 off 29 balls to keep Rawalpindiz in contention through the powerplay and early middle overs.

Lack of Support Derails Chase

Despite Yasir’s effort, the chase faltered due to lack of support. His 71-run partnership with Daryl Mitchell lacked balance, with Mitchell contributing just 11 off 15 balls.

Once that stand was broken, Rawalpindiz lost momentum rapidly, collapsing with six wickets falling for 46 runs. Lahore’s bowlers, including Haris Rauf, Usama Mir, and Sikandar Raza, maintained control during this phase.

Late Effort Not Enough

Saad Masood added a late flourish with a quick 54 off 21 balls, reducing the margin of defeat. However, the outcome was never in doubt as Lahore had already established a decisive advantage.

Qalandars Back on Track

The win provided a much-needed boost for Lahore Qalandars, with Fakhar Zaman’s return to form and a collective bowling effort proving decisive. For Rawalpindiz, the defeat marked another setback in a difficult campaign, leaving them at the bottom of the table.
