The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the India A squad for the upcoming one-day tri-series in Sri Lanka, with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi receiving his first call-up to the side.
The tournament, which will also feature Afghanistan A, marks another step in the 15-year-old’s rapid rise after his standout performances in recent competitions. Sooryavanshi gained attention during IPL 2026 and was India Under-19’s leading run-scorer at the World Cup earlier this year, including a 175 off 80 balls in the final.
Tilak Varma to Lead Squad
Tilak Varma has been appointed captain of the India A side, with Riyan Parag named as vice-captain. Alongside them, fast bowler Anshul Kamboj is the third player in the squad with senior India experience.
The squad also features opening options in Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya. Prabhsimran is one of two wicketkeeper-batters included, alongside Kumar Kushagra.
All-Round Options and Bowling Unit
India A have named several all-rounders, including Nishant Sindhu, Harsh Dubey and Suryansh Shedge, providing balance to the squad.

Jammu & Kashmir pacer Yudhvir Singh has also been selected after consistent performances in domestic cricket. He finished as the third-highest wicket-taker for his side in the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy with 21 wickets and also impressed in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
Tri-Series Schedule
India A will begin their campaign against Sri Lanka A on June 9 in Dambulla. The tri-series will follow a round-robin format before concluding with the final on June 21.
