England have announced their squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, with Nat Sciver-Brunt set to lead the side in the home tournament.

Head coach Charlotte Edwards highlighted the challenge of finalising the squad, given the depth of talent available.

“The waiting and wondering is over,” Edwards said in a press release. “We have named our ICC Women’s T20 World Cup squad and there is no doubt that it has been incredibly tough to get to these 15 names.

“This is the hardest set of selection meetings I have been a part of because the pool of players to choose from is so strong and so many talented players have put their hand up to be a part of the squad, which is exactly what we want. That is the nature of world-class sport, and it is a privilege we don’t take lightly to be able to make these difficult decisions.”

Sciver-Brunt to Lead England Campaign

Nat Sciver-Brunt, a key allrounder in the England setup, will captain the side in the tournament. England are placed in Group B and will open their campaign against Sri Lanka at Edgbaston.

Sciver-Brunt has been a consistent performer with both bat and ball and brings leadership experience, having guided England to eleven wins in sixteen T20Is. She has featured in 137 T20Is, scoring 2960 runs and taking 90 wickets.

Young Talent Earns Opportunity

One of the notable inclusions is uncapped spinner Tilly Corteen-Coleman, who has received a call-up after impressive performances in The Hundred, where she claimed 17 wickets at an economy of 6.86.

She is expected to support Sophie Ecclestone in the spin department, adding depth to England’s bowling attack.

Experienced Core Strengthens Batting

England’s batting unit will rely on the experience of Danni Wyatt-Hodge, Heather Knight, and Sophia Dunkley. Wyatt-Hodge is expected to maximise the powerplay, while Knight and Dunkley provide stability and partnership-building ability.

Amy Jones offers an additional option as wicketkeeper-batter, while Alice Capsey and Charlie Dean bring balance as spin-bowling allrounders.

Spin-Heavy Attack for Home Conditions

England have opted for a spin-heavy squad for the tournament. Alongside Ecclestone and Corteen-Coleman, Capsey, Linsey Smith, and Charlie Dean add variety in the middle overs.

Lauren Bell will lead the pace attack, supported by Freya Kemp, Lauren Filer, and Issy Wong.
