Gujarat Titans produced a remarkable all-round performance to defeat Lucknow Super Giants by seven wickets in IPL 2026, with standout contributions from Prasidh Krishna and Jos Buttler.

Chasing 165, GT reached the target comfortably in 18.4 overs after a disciplined bowling effort set the tone earlier in the match.

Prasidh leads disciplined bowling effort

Prasidh Krishna delivered a match-winning spell of 4/28, combining hard Test-match lengths with clever variations to dismantle LSG’s batting lineup.

He was well supported by Mohammed Siraj and Ashok Sharma, who struck at key moments to restrict LSG to 164/8.

Aiden Markram top-scored with 30, but LSG struggled to build partnerships as wickets fell at regular intervals. Nicholas Pooran’s lack of fluency and middle-order collapses further hurt their chances.

Gill anchors, Buttler dominates

In reply, GT skipper Shubman Gill anchored the chase with a composed 56, setting the platform with a fluent stroke-filled innings.

He shared a crucial 84-run partnership with Buttler, effectively taking the game away from LSG during the middle overs.

Buttler was the aggressor, smashing 60 off just 31 balls and bringing up his milestone 100th T20 fifty in style. His counterattack against the spinners ensured the required rate never became a concern.

Missed chances prove costly for LSG

Lucknow’s hopes of a comeback were dented by key missed opportunities, including a dropped catch of Buttler early in his innings.

From that moment, the England star took full control, punishing both pace and spin to guide his side towards an easy finish.

Gill eventually fell near the end, but Buttler remained composed to see GT home without any late drama.

Titans building momentum

This win marks Gujarat Titans’ second consecutive victory, highlighting their balanced approach with both bat and ball.

With Prasidh Krishna leading the bowling attack and the Gill-Buttler partnership firing consistently, GT are emerging as strong contenders in IPL 2026.
