Royal Challengers Bengaluru sealed a place in the IPL 2026 final with a dominant 92-run victory over Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 1, but the individual races for the Orange and Purple Caps remained closely contested.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Kagiso Rabada entered the match level on 24 wickets each and both finished the game with 26.
Rabada struck first by dismissing Venkatesh Iyer in the second over and later removed Krunal Pandya in the 17th. However, he had an expensive outing, conceding 54 runs from his four overs.
Bhuvneshwar had a stronger all-round performance, taking 2 for 28. He dismissed Shubman Gill in the fourth over before returning to remove Rahul Tewatia in the 19th.
With both bowlers tied on wickets, Bhuvneshwar remains ahead due to his superior economy rate of 8.00 compared to Rabada’s 9.48.
Jason Holder also moved to 15 wickets for the season after removing Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal in the same over, while Rasikh Salam reached 16 wickets after taking 2 for 24.
Orange Cap Leaderboard
Gujarat Titans openers B Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill had quiet outings, scoring 14 and 2 respectively, but they continue to occupy the top two positions. Sudharsan leads with 652 runs, while Gill sits second with 618.
Virat Kohli’s 43 off 25 balls lifted him to 600 runs for the season and moved him past KL Rahul into fourth place. Heinrich Klaasen remains between Kohli and the top two.
Jos Buttler moved closer to 500 runs with a quick 29 off 11 balls, taking his tally to 498. Rajat Patidar, who starred with an unbeaten 93 off 33 balls, climbed to 486 runs and 14th place.
