India’s teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi announced himself on the international stage with a breathtaking innings in the opening T20I against Zimbabwe, smashing a rapid half-century to guide India to a seven-wicket victory in Harare.
The 15-year-old opener blasted his maiden T20I fifty from just 18 balls as India chased down 126 with more than six overs remaining to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

At just 15 years and 118 days, Sooryavanshi became the youngest batter ever to score a half-century in men’s T20 Internationals. He broke the previous record held by Gibraltar’s Louis Bruce, who reached the milestone at the age of 16 years and 56 days against Malta in 2021.
The left-hander’s explosive knock featured four boundaries and four sixes, underlining the fearless approach that has already made him one of the biggest stars of IPL 2026.

Even before making his international debut, Sooryavanshi had emerged as one of cricket’s brightest young talents. Representing Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026, he amassed 776 runs to finish as the tournament’s leading run-scorer, earning his maiden India call-up for the T20I series against Ireland and England.
He made his international debut in the second T20I against Ireland on July 6, 2026. At 15 years and 99 days, he became the youngest player to represent India in international cricket across all formats. However, his first international tour proved challenging as he managed only 42 runs across three T20I innings in Ireland and England.
