The IPL 2026 Orange Cap and Purple Cap leaderboards saw further changes following Wednesday’s action, with Royal Challengers Bengaluru players making notable progress.

Kohli Moves Up in Orange Cap Standings

Virat Kohli’s unbeaten century against Kolkata Knight Riders in Raipur helped him climb to third place in the Orange Cap race. His 105 marked his ninth IPL hundred and took his season tally to 484 runs from 12 innings at a strike rate of 165.75.

He now trails only B Sai Sudharsan (501 runs) and Heinrich Klaasen (508 runs) in the run-scoring charts.

Close behind are Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Abhishek Sharma with 481 runs, Delhi Capitals’ KL Rahul with 477, and Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill with 467.

Bhuvneshwar Extends Lead in Purple Cap Race

In the bowling standings, Bhuvneshwar Kumar strengthened his hold on the Purple Cap. The former winner in 2016 and 2017 picked up 1 for 34 against KKR, taking his tally to 22 wickets.

This puts him one wicket ahead of Kagiso Rabada, who has 21 wickets this season.

Chasing Pack Remains Tight

Behind the leading pair, Chennai Super Kings’ Anshul Kamboj sits on 19 wickets. A group of bowlers share 16 wickets each, including Prince Yadav of Lucknow Super Giants, Gujarat Titans’ Rashid Khan, Kolkata Knight Riders’ Kartik Tyagi, and Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Eshan Malinga.

With several matches still to play, both leaderboards remain tightly contested as the race for the Orange and Purple Caps continues.
