KL Rahul produced a historic knock of 152* against Punjab Kings, rewriting multiple records during his extraordinary innings for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2026.
His unbeaten 152 is now the third-highest individual score in IPL history, behind only Chris Gayle’s 175* in 2013 and Brendon McCullum’s 158* in 2008.
Highest Score by an Indian in IPL and T20s
Rahul’s innings also stands as the highest individual score by an Indian in IPL history, surpassing Abhishek Sharma’s 141 against PBKS in 2025.
Beyond the IPL, it is now the highest score by an Indian in men’s T20 cricket, overtaking Tilak Varma’s 151 against Meghalaya in 2024.
Record-Breaking Team Total
Delhi Capitals’ total of 264 for 2 is their highest-ever in the IPL and ranks as the seventh-highest team total in the tournament’s history. Notably, five of the top six totals belong to Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Massive Partnership Milestone
Rahul shared a remarkable 220-run stand for the second wicket with Nitish Rana. This is:
- The second-highest partnership in IPL history
- The first 200-plus stand for Delhi Capitals
- The highest T20 partnership by an Indian pair
It surpasses the previous IPL record for DC, a 189* stand between David Warner and Naman Ojha in 2012, and also improves on the 213-run Indian pair record set by Suryakumar Yadav and Shreyas Iyer in 2019.
Rahul’s Personal Milestones
Rahul’s innings added further landmarks to his career:
- Six IPL hundreds — joint third-most in tournament history
- Three centuries as a wicketkeeper — joint-most with Quinton de Kock and Sanju Samson
- Fastest IPL hundred in 47 balls (previous best: 56 balls in 2023 vs Mumbai Indians)
This was only the second time Rahul reached a T20 hundred in under 50 balls, the other being a 46-ball century against West Indies in 2016. He now has eight T20 centuries, remaining unbeaten in all of them.
DC’s Batting Onslaught
Delhi Capitals’ innings featured a relentless scoring rate:
- 42 boundaries — joint second-most in an IPL innings
- 162 runs in the last 10 overs — joint second-highest in IPL history
- 145 runs in middle overs without losing a wicket — fourth-highest ever
The only higher boundary tally remains SRH’s 46 against Rajasthan Royals in 2025, while Royal Challengers Bengaluru also recorded 42 against Pune Warriors India in 2013.
