New Zealand have named their ODI and T20I squads for the upcoming white-ball series against Bangladesh, with fast bowlers Will O’Rourke, Matt Fisher and Blair Tickner returning after injury layoffs.

The 15-member squads mark a return to international contention for the pace trio, who missed parts of the home summer due to injuries.

Latham to Lead in Santner’s Absence

Tom Latham will captain the side for both formats, with regular white-ball skipper Mitch Santner unavailable because of his commitments with Mumbai Indians in the IPL.

A number of other regular players are also absent, as they are involved in the IPL and PSL during the same period.

Pace Trio Back from Injury

O’Rourke has been included in the ODI squad following a back injury, while Fisher returns for the T20Is after recovering from a shin issue. Tickner, who had been sidelined with an ankle injury, has been named in both squads.

Head coach Rob Walter welcomed the return of the trio.

“Will, Blair and Matt have been working very hard over the past few months to get themselves back on the park and back in contention for selection, and we’re pleased to welcome them back into the group,” said Walter.

“With the amount of cricket being played in the modern game, having depth in our bowling stocks is key. Having players of this quality return is great for the side,” he added.

Foxcroft Recalled, Young Players Retained

Dean Foxcroft has been recalled to the white-ball setup, having last played a T20I in April 2024.

Kristian Clarke and Jayden Lennox have retained their places after featuring in New Zealand’s away series win against India in January.
