The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a cash reward of Rs. 131 crore for the Indian men’s team and support staff following their victory in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

India secured the title after defeating New Zealand by 96 runs in the final held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 8, 2026. The win marked India’s third T20 World Cup title, making them the most successful team in the tournament’s history.

Reward for Players and Support Staff

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed the financial reward in an official media statement.

“With this victory, India also became the first team to win the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup three times, further cementing their place among the most successful teams in the history of the format,” Saikia stated.

According to reports, each of the 15 players in the squad is expected to receive Rs. 6 crore, while the remaining Rs. 41 crore will be distributed among the coaching and support staff.

Comparison With 2024 T20 World Cup Bonus

Following India’s previous T20 World Cup triumph in 2024, the BCCI had announced a reward of Rs. 125 crore, with each player receiving Rs. 5 crore.

The latest reward reflects the significance of India’s achievement in the 2026 edition, where they not only retained the title but also lifted the trophy on home soil.

BCCI President Praises Historic Achievement

Earlier, BCCI president Mithun Manhas congratulated the team for their historic accomplishment.

“Winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is a moment of immense pride for the entire nation. To defend the title and achieve this feat on home soil makes it even more special,” Manhas said.

“The team played outstanding cricket throughout the tournament under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav and the guidance of Head Coach Gautam Gambhir. I congratulate every member of the squad, the coaching staff and the selectors for this remarkable accomplishment.”

India’s victory not only secured their third title but also made them the first team to successfully defend the T20 World Cup and the first host nation to win the tournament.
