Sanju Samson produced a landmark performance on April 23, becoming the first Chennai Super Kings batter to score a century against Mumbai Indians. The 31-year-old’s explosive innings powered CSK to 207/5 and etched his name into multiple IPL record lists.

Batting first, Samson brought up his hundred in just 54 balls, striking 10 fours and six sixes. He completed the milestone in style, finding the boundary off the final delivery of the innings.

Samson Matches Rahul in IPL Century Tally

The knock marked Samson’s second century of IPL 2026 and his fifth overall in the tournament. With that, he drew level with KL Rahul for the fourth-most centuries in IPL history.

At the top of the list remains Virat Kohli with eight centuries, followed by Jos Buttler (7) and Chris Gayle (6).
