The Rajasthan Royals vs Gujarat Titans clash in IPL 2026 produced significant movement in both the Orange Cap and Purple Cap races, with Kagiso Rabada moving to the top of the wicket-taking chart and Shubman Gill making a major jump among the run-scorers.
Purple Cap Leaderboard
Kagiso Rabada rose to No. 1 in the Purple Cap standings after taking two wickets against Rajasthan Royals. The Gujarat Titans pacer now has 18 wickets for the season and continues to build momentum with every outing.
Rabada has been in this position before, having won the Purple Cap in 2020 while playing for Delhi Capitals. That season, he finished with 30 wickets, one of only three instances in IPL history where a bowler has taken 30 or more wickets in a single edition.
Jofra Archer had a chance to climb the table but went wicketless in the match. As a result, Rabada now leads the list, followed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar of Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Anshul Kamboj of Chennai Super Kings, both with 17 wickets.
Prince Yadav of Lucknow Super Giants and Eshan Malinga of Sunrisers Hyderabad are next with 16 wickets each. Rashid Khan has also moved close to the top after his four-wicket haul against RR took him to 15 wickets for the season. He is level with Archer but ahead on economy rate, 8.26 compared to Archer’s 9.12.
Orange Cap Leaderboard
There was no change in the top three of the Orange Cap standings, with Heinrich Klaasen, Abhishek Sharma and KL Rahul holding their positions. However, the match brought movement just below them.
Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill struck 84 off 44 balls, while opening partner B Sai Sudharsan added 55 off 36 as GT posted 229 for 4. Their efforts set up a 77-run victory over Rajasthan Royals.
Gill’s innings lifted him to fourth place with 462 runs. He is now close behind Klaasen, who leads with 494, Abhishek on 475, and Rahul on 468.
Sai Sudharsan moved to sixth with 440 runs. He is level on runs with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who scored 36 off 16 balls for RR, but Sooryavanshi remains ahead due to a superior strike rate. Sooryavanshi has scored his runs at 236.55, while Sai Sudharsan’s strike rate stands at 157.70.
The latest changes have tightened both individual races, with Rabada now leading the bowlers and Gill closing in on the top three in the batting chart.
