Pakistan all-rounder Hussain Talat was taken to hospital after suffering a shoulder injury during the second match of the three-game ODI series against Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Friday.

Talat picked up the injury while fielding and was immediately attended to by the team’s medical staff on the ground.

“Following the initial assessment, he has been taken to a hospital for a detailed examination,” PCB said in a statement. “The nature and extent of the injury will be determined after the doctors complete further medical evaluation,” it added.

Unusual run-out sparks tension

The contest also witnessed a dramatic moment involving Pakistan batter Salman Agha, who was dismissed in an unusual run-out incident orchestrated by Bangladesh captain Mehidy Hasan.

The episode unfolded in the 39th over when Mohammad Rizwan struck the ball back towards Agha at the non-striker’s end off Mehidy’s bowling, leading to a brief collision between the spinner and the batter.

With Agha still outside his crease, both players attempted to gather the ball, but Mehidy reached it first and quickly produced an underarm direct hit at the stumps.

Agha reacted angrily, raising his arms and throwing his equipment after on-field umpire Tanvir Ahmed referred the decision upstairs following an appeal from Mehidy and the Bangladesh fielders. The batter departed in frustration after scoring 64 off 62 balls.

Third umpire Kumar Dharmasena confirmed the dismissal after reviewing the replay, ruling that Agha was short of his ground when the bails were dislodged. The wicket also ended a crucial 109-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Rizwan, which had stabilised Pakistan following the loss of three wickets for 18 runs soon after their 103-run opening stand.
