Finn Allen smashed a stunning unbeaten century to guide Kolkata Knight Riders to an emphatic eight-wicket win over Delhi Capitals in IPL 2026. After their spinners restricted DC to 142 for 8, KKR chased down the target with ease, securing their fourth consecutive victory.

KKR Spinners Strangle Delhi

KKR’s spin trio applied relentless pressure throughout DC’s innings, with Anukul Roy, Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy dictating the middle phase. Despite a strong start from Pathum Nissanka, DC struggled to build partnerships.

Nissanka scored 50 at a brisk pace, contributing 50 of the team’s first 85 runs. However, his dismissal — stumped off Roy — triggered a slowdown. Roy struck again shortly after, tightening KKR’s grip on the game.

From 74 for 2 after eight overs, DC lost momentum drastically. Between overs 12 and 16, they managed just 11 runs in 30 deliveries, highlighting KKR’s control through spin.

Roy, Narine and Varun Lead the Charge

Roy initiated the collapse by removing both Nissanka and Tristan Stubbs with contrasting deliveries. With DC slipping to 89 for 5, Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy tightened the screws further.

Narine returned figures of 1 for 17, while Chakravarthy went wicketless but maintained control despite discomfort during his spell. DC’s innings was eventually pushed to 142 for 8, thanks largely to a late effort from Ashutosh Sharma, who scored 39 off 28 balls.

Allen Takes Control of the Chase

In reply, Allen dominated the chase with a breathtaking display of power hitting. Playing through the powerplay for the first time in his IPL career, he accelerated dramatically after a measured start.

From 20 off 17 balls, Allen launched a barrage of sixes, finishing unbeaten on 100. His innings included 10 sixes, with the final hit both sealing the win and bringing up his maiden IPL century.

He was particularly destructive against spin, scoring 73 runs off 31 balls at a strike rate of 235.

Despite the early run-out of captain Ajinkya Rahane, KKR remained firmly in control. DC’s bowlers, including Kuldeep Yadav, struggled to contain the scoring, with Kuldeep conceding runs at a high rate.

KKR completed the chase at 147 for 2, sealing a comprehensive win and extending their winning streak.
