Pakistan secured the three-match series against Zimbabwe with a commanding 67-run victory in the 2nd T20I, moving into a 2-0 lead. After choosing to bat first, Pakistan made a cautious start, reaching only 34 runs in the Powerplay while losing Gull Feroza.
Their innings came under more pressure when two quick dismissals left them struggling at 46/3. Muneeba Ali and Eyman Fatima then steadied the situation with a 46-run stand, before Fatima combined with Natalia Pervaiz for a decisive 78-run partnership that shifted momentum firmly in Pakistan’s favour.
Muneeba’s 36 at the top of the order played an important role in stopping the innings from falling apart, but it was Fatima’s unbeaten 79* that drove Pakistan’s recovery and lifted them to a strong 170/4 from 20 overs. Pakistan were especially aggressive in the last five overs, collecting 58 runs during that period.
Zimbabwe’s chase never found any rhythm. They were in difficulty early after slipping to 29/3 inside the Powerplay, before Nashra Sandhu took two wickets in the same over. Another dismissal in the 9th over left Zimbabwe in deep trouble at 51/6.
Only some minor contributions from the lower order prevented the scorecard from looking even more one-sided. Zimbabwe managed to move past 100 and avoided being bowled out, but still finished 67 runs short as Pakistan sealed the series.
