Quetta Gladiators secured a convincing 61-run victory over Rawalpindiz in PSL 2026, handing them a fifth consecutive defeat and leaving them without a win halfway through the league stage.

Batting first, Quetta posted 182 for 6 on a challenging surface, with Rilee Rossouw leading the effort with 53, supported by Saud Shakeel (42) and a late surge from Hasan Nawaz (39). In response, Rawalpindiz were bowled out for 121 in 17.3 overs.

Rossouw and Shakeel lay the platform

After being put in to bat by Mohammad Rizwan, Quetta adapted well to a pitch that offered grip and low bounce. Rossouw and Shakeel combined for an 87-run partnership, providing stability through controlled batting.

Rossouw’s 53 off 42 balls came through selective boundary-hitting, while Shakeel’s 42 off 39 relied on strike rotation to keep the innings moving. Their approach set the foundation for an aggressive finish.

Late surge lifts Quetta to 182

The momentum shifted in the final overs as Hasan Nawaz and Jahandad Khan accelerated sharply. Hasan struck five sixes in his 39 off 16 balls, while Jahandad contributed an unbeaten 21 off just six deliveries, including two sixes and two fours.

Quetta added 88 runs in the final seven overs, pushing their total to a competitive 182 on a surface that had earlier proven difficult for batters.

Early strikes derail Rawalpindiz chase

Jahandad made an immediate impact with the ball, dismissing Rizwan on the first delivery of the innings. Rawalpindiz briefly showed resistance through a 27-run stand between Usman Khawaja and Yasir Khan, but a run-out ended the partnership.

A collapse followed, with Rawalpindiz losing four wickets for just five runs around the halfway mark, effectively ending their hopes of a successful chase.

Saad Masood provided some resistance with 31 off 19 balls, but the required rate continued to climb. Daryl Mitchell added 30, though his innings included a brief interruption when he pulled away twice due to Usman Tariq’s pause in delivery before play resumed.

The finish that seals the result

Quetta’s bowlers maintained pressure throughout, with Saud Shakeel (2 for 4), Jahandad Khan (2 for 8), and Usman Tariq (2 for 23) contributing key breakthroughs. The innings concluded with a run-out, summing up Rawalpindiz’s struggles with both bat and in the field.

The result marked Quetta’s second win in five matches, while Rawalpindiz’s ongoing difficulties continued, leaving them in a precarious position in the standings.
