Nagpur, Chennai, Guwahati, Ranchi and Ahmedabad have been confirmed as the venues for the five-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which will conclude India’s busy 2026–27 home season. The schedule features four bilateral tours, with West Indies, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and Australia set to visit during the extended campaign.
The season will begin with West Indies touring India from September 27 to October 17 for a white-ball series comprising three ODIs and five T20Is. Sri Lanka will follow later in the year, playing three ODIs and three T20Is between December 13 and 27. Zimbabwe’s tour, scheduled from January 3 to 9, will consist of three ODIs and marks their first bilateral series in India since 2002. Australia’s visit for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will run from January 21 to March 3, featuring five Tests across five venues.
The upcoming season will also see Bengaluru return as an international cricket venue for the first time since the stampede outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium last June, which resulted in 11 fatalities. The city is set to host the fifth T20I against West Indies on October 17 and the second ODI against Sri Lanka on December 16.
Bengaluru is among five venues scheduled to stage two international matches during the season. Guwahati will host the second ODI against West Indies and the third Test against Australia, while Hyderabad will stage the fourth T20I against West Indies and the second ODI against Zimbabwe. Ranchi has been allotted the second T20I against West Indies and the fourth Test against Australia, and Ahmedabad will host the third ODI against Sri Lanka along with the fifth Test against Australia.
Guwahati, which staged its first-ever Test in November 2025, is set to host another red-ball fixture for the second successive season.
A notable fixture in the itinerary is the first ODI against Sri Lanka in Delhi on December 13. In recent years, the city has faced severe winter air pollution, including during an India–Sri Lanka Test in 2017 when players reported breathing difficulties and nausea. Last year, the BCCI adjusted scheduling by swapping a planned October Test against West Indies in Kolkata with a November Test against South Africa in Delhi to ensure the capital hosted a match before pollution levels typically rise around Diwali.
Among other prominent venues, Kolkata and Mumbai will each stage an ODI during Zimbabwe’s tour, scheduled for January 3 and January 9 respectively.
