Kashvee Gautam and Anushka Sharma have secured their first-ever T20I selections after India’s Women’s selection committee named a 15-member squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against South Africa in April.
Uma Chetry has also been included in the squad, while Vaishnavi Sharma, Sneh Rana, G Kamalini and Amanjot Kaur have been left out following the recent series against Australia.

Harmanpreet Kaur (C), Smriti Mandhana (VC), Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, Richa Ghosh (WK), Arundhati Reddy, Renuka Thakur, Kranti Gaud, Sree Charani, Shreyanka Patil, Kashvee Gautam, Bharti Fulmali, Uma Chetry (WK), Anushka Sharma.
Kashvee, a 22-year-old seamer, has represented Gujarat Giants in the Women’s Premier League, featuring in 18 matches and claiming 19 wickets. She made her international debut during the ODI series against Sri Lanka in April 2025 and also received her Test cap in the one-off match against Australia in Perth earlier this month.
Anushka, the 22-year-old all-rounder, also turned out for the Giants in the 2026 WPL season, scoring 177 runs across seven games. She was previously part of the India A side that won the Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars T20 tournament.
Meanwhile, 23-year-old wicketkeeper-batter Uma Chetry returns to the T20I setup. She has played seven T20Is for India and made her ODI debut against Bangladesh during the 2025 World Cup. Chetry was part of the UP Warriorz squads in the 2024 and 2025 WPL seasons but went unsold in 2026.
The five-match series will serve as preparation for the Women’s T20 World Cup in England later this year. The first two matches are scheduled in Durban on April 17 and 19, followed by the third and fourth games in Johannesburg on April 22 and 25. The series finale will take place in Benoni on April 27.
