The International Cricket Council (ICC) has formally charged West Indies cricketer Javon Searles along with team officials Chitranjan Rathod and Trevon Griffith for multiple alleged violations of the Anti-Corruption Codes of both Cricket West Indies (CWI) and the ICC.

According to an official ICC statement, the allegations relate primarily to the Bim10 Tournament 2023/24, which is governed by the CWI Anti-Corruption Code. Griffith has also been cited for a separate charge linked to International Matches that fall under the ICC Anti-Corruption Code.

Charges under the CWI Anti-Corruption Code

All three individuals have been accused of the following offences:

  • Breach of Article 2.1.1: Fixing, attempting to fix, or improperly influencing — or agreeing to influence — the result, progress, conduct, or any other aspect of matches in the 2023/24 Bim10 tournament.
  • Breach of Article 2.1.4: Soliciting, directing, encouraging, or assisting Players and/or Player Support Personnel to commit violations under the CWI Code.
  • Breach of Article 2.4.4: Failing or refusing to cooperate with a reasonable investigation conducted by the Designated Anti-Corruption Official or a nominated representative into possible offences under the CWI Code.

In addition, both Searles and Griffith have been charged with Breach of Article 2.4.2, which concerns failing to report to Cricket West Indies any approaches or invitations to engage in conduct that could constitute a breach of the Code.

Additional ICC Charge Against Griffith

Griffith faces a further allegation under the ICC Anti-Corruption Code. He has been charged with Breach of Article 2.4.7, relating to obstruction of the Anti-Corruption Unit’s inquiry into potential corrupt conduct by allegedly concealing and/or interfering with information that could have been relevant evidence or could have led investigators to such evidence.

All three individuals have been provisionally suspended from participating in any form of cricket with immediate effect. As stated in the ICC release, they have been given 14 days from March 11, 2026, to respond to the charges.

The ICC also noted that these proceedings form part of a broader investigation that previously resulted in USA player Aaron Jones being charged with five separate breaches of the CWI and ICC anti-corruption codes on January 28.
