Key Tournament Details
Despite the recent withdrawal of Bangladesh from the tournament due to security concerns, the ICC has maintained the original match calendar by replacing them with Scotland. This ensures the group stage structure remains balanced without requiring a total overhaul of the logistics.
- Group Stage: Running from February 7 to February 20, the 20 teams are divided into four groups. India and Pakistan are both placed in Group A, alongside the USA, Namibia, and the Netherlands.
- Neutral Venue for Pakistan: In accordance with an ICC agreement, all of Pakistan’s matches—including the high-voltage clash against India on February 15—will be hosted exclusively at neutral venues in Sri Lanka.
- Defending Champions: India enters the competition as the title-holders, following their victory over South Africa in the 2024 final in Barbados.
- The Road to the Final: The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super 8 stage (starting February 21), leading into the semi-finals on March 4 and 5, with the final taking place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 8.
Warm-Up Fixtures
Before the main event begins, teams will participate in a series of warm-up matches from February 2 to February 6. India is scheduled to play a solitary high-profile warm-up against South Africa on February 4 at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai.
